Why custom polyurethane wheels are needed
The requirements of the mining environment on wheels can be summarized as: ultra-high strength, ultra-wear resistance, impact resistance and tear resistance. The choice of polyurethane wheels for the mine is essentially a “durability and reliability centered” solution. It sacrifice comfort and energy efficiency for unmatched survivability in extreme environments.
Challenge
1. Extremely severe pavement: the surface is covered with sharp and hard rocks and slag. Uneven road surface, huge impact and vibration.
2. Ultra-high load: Mining equipment (such as articulated trucks, scrapers and conveyors) usually carries dozens of tons to hundreds of tons of materials, and the ultimate test for the bearing capacity of wheels.g.
3. Severe wear and tear: Cutting, tearing and flaking of the tire surface by sharp ore is the main form of failure, much more fatal than uniform wear on a smooth surface.g.
4. Severe environment: may be exposed to water, mud, ore sand and other abrasive substances. Downhole environment may also have certain acid-base property.
5. Safety and reliability: under the mine, the failure of wheels may lead to serious production interruption or even safety accidents. Reliability is paramount.
Facing this series of tough problems, XX Mining Group decided to find a fundamental solution. Through investigation and technical exchange, they finally chose to cooperate with us and customized a set of high-performance polyurethane wheels for mining.

Solutions
Our technical team went deep underground, surveyed key parameters such as road condition, load and speed, and provided targeted solutions:
1. Outstanding abrasion resistant formula: we use special polyurethane elastomer material, and its abrasion loss is far lower than the national standard. This material can effectively resist the abrasion of gangue and rough ground, and increase the service life of wheels by more than 3 times.
2. High-bearing structure and material: By combining the optimized wheel core structure design (such as high-strength steel core) with the polyurethane formula with high hardness and high elasticity, the wheel can maintain stable shape and performance under extreme heavy load, completely eliminate the risk of “crushing” and greatly improve the safety coefficient.
4. Excellent tear and impact resistance: polyurethane material itself has extremely high tensile strength and tear strength, which can effectively resist puncturing and cutting of sharp objects. The integrity of wheel surface can be maintained even under severe working conditions, greatly reducing accidental damage.
5. Customized grip and rolling resistance: We provide different hardness and pattern options according to the dry and wet conditions of the underground ground, so as to ensure that the vehicle has good grip on the complex road surface and maintains low rolling resistance, which helps save traction power.
